Oh, he had to bring out the stem cell issue! Has he been educated on the current state of stem cell science? I think that congressmen are not educated well enough in these fields to be making public policy about them. There are distinct differences between embryonic and adult stem cells. Limiting the use of 'medical waste' (aka, embryos destined to be thrown away) should be a viable option for research. This is not taking away the right to life by the act of research, but by the owner in allowing for them to be thrown. In this instance, it is allowing those cells to have a second chance at life, and giving researchers the ability to potentially create cures to give others a second chance at life.
